Sustainability

Cultivating sustainability

At idverde, our mission goes beyond creating and maintaining landscapes. We’re committed to harnessing the power of nature and the expertise of our people to tackle the climate crisis and environmental challenges.

We understand the profound importance of protecting our environment for generations to come. This commitment is deeply ingrained in our company culture – a natural fit for the passionate individuals who choose to work here. Our shared love for wildlife and green spaces fuels our dedication to making a positive impact on communities, outdoor spaces, and wildlife conservation.

Building a sustainable future

  • Industry-leading certifications: Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our ISO certifications (9001, 14001, and 45001). These rigorous standards guide our practices and require annual environmental assessments, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • B-Corp Certification: We're taking our sustainability efforts to the next level by pursuing B-Corp Certification. This rigorous programme ensures our entire business model prioritises social and environmental responsibility.
  • People, Planet, Performance: Our comprehensive sustainability strategy focuses on three key pillars: People (employee wellbeing and development), Planet (environmental stewardship), and Performance (optimising our operations for sustainability). This holistic approach ensures every aspect of our business contributes to a greener future.

We believe in collaborative sustainability. We actively engage with clients, industry organisations, partners, and our supply chain to develop a comprehensive and inclusive strategy.

Nature Conservation and Biodiversity

We’re proud of our award-winning  partnership with the RSPB. Together, we manage over 100 protected sites, build habitats for Swifts, discover rare orchids, engage communities, and inspire collaboration. Our colleagues take pride in helping grow habitats for diverse wildlife in their communities.

We employ dedicated RSPB colleagues to maintain, enhance, and restore Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC) and other green spaces. Additionally, we provide grants of up to £1000 for community-led projects aimed at improving local green spaces, enhancing the environment, and boosting local wellbeing.

Through the idverde Greenspace Development team, we support over 100,000 hours of community volunteering and value-added activities annually.
