About the role
Are you an experienced administrator who is organised, self-motivated and proactive? As a Cemetery Officer, you will be an essential member of the LBHF Bereavement Service Team, providing a compassionate and efficient Cemeteries service in a professional manner. You will be coordinating with funeral directors to ensure each burial is processed with care and respect, as well as providing vital administrative services for the Bereavement Service Team.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate cemetery records and grave information through our database system and Microsoft office tools.
- Identifying and assisting with the location of grave plots to cemetery stakeholders or preparation of upcoming burials.
- Recording bookings for burials and administering paperwork for the successful completion of all cemetery processes, including memorial permits.
- Processing payments and maintaining financial records.
- Undertake routine clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, mail and email inbox management and answering phones.
Requirements
- Previous experience in bereavement services or the funeral industry would be highly desirable.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, able to deliver a professional and empathetic service to all stakeholders.
- The ability to be organised, proactive and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel.
